Thorpe Hall Hospice Presents... Gig and CD Launch – Radius , Peterborough 9 Feb 2008

Ladies and gentlemen, roll up, roll up for the CD launch party of the year.

Thorpe Hall Hospice Presents... are pleased and proud to announce details of this unique event, to be held at Radius (above The Solstice, Northminster Road, Peterborough) on Saturday 9 Feb to launch the long-awaited CD.  Doors at 7.00pm, first band at 7.30pm.

The following artistes (all featured on the CD) will be appearing for your delight and delectation:

King Kool: Garage Rock. A dirty, grungey, bluesy, bombastic assault on the senses.

Angry Man: Acoustic based roots rock. An evocative blend of songs of love, hope and loss.

Derrin Nauendorf: Raw emotive music played with passion on an untamed acoustic guitar.

The Surgens: Twisted country blues, recorded with instruments dug out from under the straw bales in Pa's barn.

Rebelation: Reggae, ska and rocksteady with a touch of funk in places combine to make this outfit a great party band.

Tickets are available from Radius/The Solstice, all local Sue Ryder Care Shops, Reception at Thorpe Hall Hospice, The Live Music Shop on Lincoln Road and Advance Performance in Fengate. Alternatively you can order your tickets by credit card , Mon-Fri 9-5 from Thorpe Hall Hospice on 01733 330060.

Tickets are priced at £5.00 with all profits going to Sue Ryder Care, Thorpe Hall Hospice. As part of the launch, we will also have our CDs for sale, which includes tracks from other hot, local artists, as well as a few national treasures such as Duke Special, Iain Archer (songwriter for Snow Patrol), Dave Rotheray (songwriter/guitarist for The Beautiful South) and Sam Brown – all of whom have given their personal permission and support to this amazing project.  Look out for some guest appearances on the night too!

The Hospice provides palliative care services free of charge to the people of Peterborough and the surrounding area. Come an support us at this truly unique event. We hope to see you there.

A Unique collaboration of outstanding musicians who have come together to support the work of Sue Ryder Care, Thorpe Hall Hospice. Thorpe Hall Presents is an eclectic mix of tracks from funk to folk, with some garage rock and acoustic gems thrown in along the way. All of the artists involved in this project have donated their tracks for use on the album free of charge. We salute you all...
